I am very delighted that the Angul Police District Website has been launched. With the advent of Social media and plethora of information in public domain, I find that the website will help people all over to know about the functioning of the district police force.

Angul District is industrialized area as well as agrarian area. Due to rehabilitation issues of Projects Affected Persons (PAP’s) the police are always on the alert to handle any law and order situation tactically. The Pallahara block is affected by Maoist menace and of late in the southern part of District Maoist movement has been noticed. The District Voluntary Force ( DVF) along with Special Operation Group (SOG) is vigilant to thwart any untoward incident and is engaged in area domination operations.

For prevention of crime the district police is regularly conducting vehicle checking, day and night patrolling and blocking. The Call centre for women related crimes is functioning on 24 x 7 basis. The Integrated Anti Human Trafficking Unit (IAHTU) is working to prevent trafficking and investigating the cases. The women and child Cell is monitoring Women/ Child related cases. Another control room is functioning in District Intelligence Bureau (DIB) for law and order management. The Ama Police Samiti for Community partnership is effectively functioning in the District.

With all these steps, I hope that the district police will serve the needs and aspirations of people of the District and the District website will act as a medium to spread awareness of multiplicity of Police functioning.
